Marc Shilling is a Kent born self taught artist who draws by candlelight to evoke technique and feel of creating art in a pre-electricity era. His art is reduced to just three elements: pencil, paper and candlelight. Marc’s detail and draughtsmanship are staggering.
His work is photographic and surreal. He uses a range of photographs from various sources which he reinterprets, often distorting or superimposing images to achieve his own take on the chosen subject.
Marc exhibited primarily in Wiltshire and undertook many commissions from private clients - mainly portraiture.

In his Diptych Donde Esta Mi Perro? which means Where Is My Dog?
in Spanish Marc takes two unconnected images to create an unusual two-part artwork bringing them together in a new composition.
