My name is David Carrott also known as The Recycled Metal Smith. I specialise in up-cycling old precious metal items into new ones. I do this because I love the idea that sentiment is attached to objects and that objects are inanimate until animated (loved) by someone.

Many items are simply discarded when they are no longer loved or when styles and tastes have changed. I like to give certain items a second chance and simply clean them up and fix them if needed, Other items beg to be remade into an entirely new thing. Precious metal lends itself to being remelted and reformed, and stones mostly never change.
